Illustration for “The Art and Soul of Fort Worth.”  for a media event held in Chicago.

Digging into a historic photo collection from Doug Harman, CEO of Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau, I came across a photo of a cowboy in a saloon taken in Hell’s Half Acre, now downtown Fort Worth. I extracted him from the photo and applied processes inspired from Andy Warhol’s work. I have always been inspiredhow he used the simple images of famous people and subjected them to bold, offset colors.
