TROY MYATT
Troy Myatt has an extensive background that includes working with Fortune 500 companies, top agencies in the Southwest, and destination marketing and publishing. His experiences have given him a well-rounded perspective on design and its impact on businesses, even in its simplest form. Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Myatt moved to Texas to attend Abilene Christian University, where he discovered his passion for advertising and graphic design. With the help of friends, he secured a position at a startup company called I.C.S.S, where he created collateral for Apple, Motorola, and The Toro Company. While there, he assisted in developing packaging and collateral for a classroom network assistance program for educational institutions throughout Texas, which eventually became national before Steve Jobs returned to Apple.
After graduation, Troy joined Zachry Associates, the top agency in Abilene, where he had the opportunity to learn typography from some of the best Art Directors and a visionary Creative Director. Later, he became a Senior Art Director at Stuart Bacon, one of the rising top advertising agencies in the Southwest, where he produced award-winning creative for clients such as The Renaissance Worthington Hotel, Fort Worth Opera, and Amon Carter Museum.


In 1999, the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau approached Myatt to create an in-house creative department to develop advertising and marketing campaigns, as well as collateral for tourism and meetings markets. For over seven years, he worked with a visionary team to produce award-winning work that was recognized both regionally and nationally. Their message was translated through design for different markets and displayed in Times Square, The New York Times, and in the U.K.
After serving at the FWCVB, Troy moved on to Javelin Marketing Group, where he worked on larger teams for AT&T and MX Energy, and pitched campaign work for Southwest Airlines and other divisions of AT&T. Later, he became the Design Director for American Airlines Publishing – Custom Division, where he led a team of five in sustaining and acquiring new business. In just under two years, his team pitched and won Hilton Moments Magazine, Biltmore Hotel Magazine, and a publication for the Michael and Susan Dell foundation. They also secured and reestablished relationships with current clients such as Fort Worth Magazine, IN Medical City, and AA Credit Union’s Cents Magazine. Myatt was also responsible for managing the design direction for NEXOS, American Airlines in-flight magazine for the Latin American markets.
Currently, Troy serves as the Design Director for Corporate Magic, Inc., where he works with clients such as Mazda, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, and Bridgestone Corp, and also headed up the publishing division, Tamarack Agency, inventing and designing the first iPad digital publication, Lights Magazine that focused on the meeting events industry that garnered praise from industry colleagues and swept awards circuits for two years, including winning and participating as jury at the Society of Publication Design Awards held in New York City.
Troy also served as Design Director for Authentic Texas Magazine, the Heritage Magazine of Texas, Texas Rangers 2023 Bicentennial Guide and several other West Texas clients: Frontier Texas, Perini Ranch Steakhouse, Vagabond Pizza and is currently a Board Member for the Texas Forts Trails.
When he’s not working, he enjoys mentoring designers and spending time with his family and friends, fishing, occasionally horse riding and racing around in his Porsche 944. Additionally, he also recently obtained a single-engine private pilot’s license.
